Electronic Delivery Consent
This consent authorizes the W-9 recipient to send your 1099 forms to you electronically in the place of slower mail delivery. Companies that do not have electronic capabilities may still mail your 1099 forms to you. This consent is optional.
If you do not consent to receive Form 1099 electronically, a paper copy will be mailed to you. This will likely delay receipt of your Form 1099.
Scope and duration of consent
Your consent to receive Form 1099 electronically will apply to all Forms 1099 issued by W9manager users after consent is given. Your consent given here will remain in effect until you withdraw your consent in the manner described in the paragraph “Withdrawal of consent” below.
Post-consent request for a paper statement
You can request a paper copy of your Form 1099 after your electronic Form 1099 has been issued by contacting the company that issued your Form 1099 or by contacting the address and the phone number listed on the electronic Form 1099. The request for a paper copy will not be treated as a withdrawal of consent.
Withdrawal of consent
You can withdraw your consent to receive Form 1099 electronically at any time. Simply log into W9manager, click on “Companies” on the left menu, locate your company and then click on the “Edit” button to edit the company. Uncheck the box at the bottom of the form that says “I consent to electronic delivery” and then click “Update”. Your preference will be immediately changed for all current W9manager subscribers. You will have to notify all other prior recipients of your Form W-9. Your withdrawal of consent will be effective in 5 business days. Be aware that deleting your company will not cancel your electronic consent. A withdrawal of consent does not apply to a Form 1099 that was furnished electronically in the manner described in this notice before the date on which the withdrawal of consent takes effect.
Notice of termination
A Form 1099 will no longer be furnished by the furnisher if there are no reportable payments per IRS information reporting guidelines.
To update your 1099 delivery email address log into W9manager and navigate to the Companies section. Click on the “Edit” button to edit contact information and update your email address. Your email address change will be effective once validated.
Hardware and software requirements
To access, print, and retain your Form 1099 you will need computer access to the internet, the ability to download an Adobe PDF file with Adobe Viewer and the ability to receive email messages. To download the Adobe Viewer and see the necessary computer system requirements go to http://get.adobe.com/reader/. The furnisher will email you with the electronic method they will use to furnish your Form 1099 by January 31st of each year following the calendar year to which the Form 1099 relates (or the first business day after January 31st, if January 31st falls on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday).
Your Form 1099 will be available through October 15th each year following the calendar year to which the Form 1099 relates (or through the first business day after October 15th if October 15th falls on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday). Corrected Forms 1099 must be posted through the same time period or through the date 90 days after the corrected forms are posted, whichever is later. Form 1099 may be required to be printed and attached to a Federal, State, or local income tax return.
